FAQs

You ask, we answer.

What is qii?

It’s the world’s first all-natural tea drink that has been scientifically proven to help improve your oral and overall health.

What does qii taste like?

qii is a refreshing and lightly sweetened tea beverage brewed from certified organic oolong and green tea leaves. It comes in specially formulated flavours (pomegranate, white peach, lychee, lemongrass ginger) obtained from natural extracts.

How does qii work?

qii contains XyVita, our patent pending xylitol-based sweetener. Unlike sugar, xylitol does not promote plaque buildup by cavity-causing bacteria. In contrast to most go-to beverages, qii also has a neutral pH, promoting the growth of healthy oral bacteria and minimizing the risk of dental erosion. Additionally, the natural health benefits of tea are maintained, providing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties in every can of qii. Learn more in drinkqii.com/all-about-qii.

What is XyVita?

XyVita is our patent-pending xylitol-based sweetener that has been scientifically proven to promote good oral health. The main component of XyVita is xylitol which is a tooth-friendly sugar substitute and does not promote the development of cavities.

What is xylitol?

Xylitol is a naturally occurring sweetener found in fruits, vegetables, and other plants. Purified xylitol is a white crystalline powder that dissolves readily in water and looks/tastes like table sugar. Xylitol is absorbed more slowly into the bloodstream than sugar, so it is less likely to spike blood sugar or insulin levels. Additionally, it contains only 2.4 calories per gram (40% fewer calories than the equivalent amount of sugar) and is considered a diet-friendly sweetener.

Why does neutral pH matter?

pH is an indication of acidity, measured on a scale from 1 (most acidic) to 14 (most alkaline). A neutral pH of 7 helps maintain a non-acidic environment in your mouth that allows beneficial bacteria to thrive.

Populations of undesirable oral bacteria are typically more acid resistant than beneficial bacteria, so by drinking acidic beverages (like soft drinks, coffee, or juices) you lower your mouth’s pH, allowing bad bacteria to thrive. While the growth of bacteria in your mouth is normal and healthy, the dominance of bad bacteria can lead to the buildup of plaque, resulting in numerous oral diseases like caries, or cavities. When left unchecked, this can result in gingivitis and periodontitis.

What is the best time to consume qii?

qii can be consumed at any time of the day, but drinking it after a meal helps reduce plaque and biofilm buildup significantly. qii is great for a tooth-friendly late night craving, after-meal refresher, or a pre-meeting confidence booster.

What are the ingredients in qii?

qii contains natural extracts from organic tea leaves, xylitol, vegetable glycerin, sodium alginate and sodium bicarbonate. Tea leaves are fermented or dried leaves of Camellia sinensis, an evergreen shrub native to Asia. It’s an excellent source of antioxidants and has also been shown to boost the immune system. Vegetable glycerine is a colorless, odorless liquid that is sweet-tasting, non-toxic, and has a moisturizing effect that helps relieve symptoms of dry mouth. Sodium alginate is an edible, non-toxic powder extracted from seaweed. Sodium bicarbonate is a naturally occurring salt, commonly known as baking soda.

Where are qii's tea leaves sourced from?

Our green tea and oolong leaves are sourced from an organic, fair trade supplier in Taiwan.
